The PACE program was originally developed in the 1970’s in San Francisco. The results were so positive that funding was provided so this model of care and services could be duplicated nationwide. St. Paul’s PACE program is the only program of its kind in San Diego and is funded by Medi-Cal and Medicare, or private pay .
