Don’t tell that to Maria Chavarria, 64, and Ronald Barker, 72.
They met at St. Paul’s PACE center in Chula Vista last January. Four months later, as staff and patients gathered around, Barker, twice widowed, dropped down on one knee in the therapy room and asked for Maria’s hand in marriage.
