Retirement community has been CEO’s life work. Cheryl Wilson’s nursing career began in the Australian outback, where she helped treat sick and injured people under primitive conditions. When she moved to San Diego’s South County in 1970 and helped co-found what was then called the Imperial Beach Free Clinic, she found herself again working with limited resources and conditions that tested her ingenuity and fortitude.
