Introducing St. Paul’s new educational series for 2019, “Plan For Tomorrow, Today!”

Event Date: Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 9 AM – 12 PM

Location: St. Paul’s Manor, 2635 Second Avenue, San Diego, California 92103

Join us at our first of 5, FREE educational workshops that St. Paul’s will be hosting throughout this year. Our first event will take place at St. Paul’s Manor in Bankers Hill and the theme is “Planning Ahead.”


Joaquin Anguera, Ph.D
The Challenges of Aging
Dr. Anguera has worked in the field of aging for over 40 years. For 20 years he was a professor of gerontology at San Diego State University. Currently, he is a governor’s appointee to the California Commission on Aging. Joaquin has been involved in the establishment of several agencies helping the elderly. He’s given numerous presentations throughout the nation and abroad on subjects related to the challenges of old age. He worked for over 30 years at Aging & Independence Services, a county agency that oversees all the services for the elderly in San Diego County.
Richard Scott Stewart, Esq

The Five Essential Documents
Scott has concentrated his law practice on solving the legal problems affecting the California senior population. These problems include Medi-Cal benefit law, estate planning and asset protection and retention. Scott graduated from California Western School of Law in 1995. He is a member of the California Bar Association, San Diego County Bar Association, California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He has appeared as a regular guest on the Lawyer in Blue Jeans radio show and conducts regular seminars and workshops on elder law topics in Southern California for caregiver support groups.
Veronica Mitchell
How to Have the Conversation about Planning Ahead
Veronica Mitchell is a writer, consultant, and speaker based in San Diego. She was the founder of two successful corporations in Vail, Colorado and San Diego. Before owning her own businesses, she was the General Manager of Restaurants and Music Venues. She has a passion for business development, writing, and cannabis wellness. She works as an advocate for women, seniors, and caregivers. Veronica writes her column, Ask Veronica, for The San Diego Union-tribune focusing on aging and caregiving.
