St. Paul’s PACE Received Project of the Year in the San Diego Housing Federation’s Annual Awards Program

City Heights’ Talmadge Gateway Project was recognized, together with Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation, and City Heights CDC

St. Paul’s Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) received a first-place award from the San Diego Housing Federations (SDHF) annual Ruby Awards program for its Talmadge Gateway project, which was done in collaboration with Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation, and the City Heights Community Development Corporation (CDC).

Talmadge Gateway – San Diego’s first supportive housing community for formerly homeless seniors with medical needs – won the CSH Supportive Housing award.

“This is in recognition for all of the dedicated PACE staff who provide exceptional medical and social care for 59 previously homeless seniors in San Diego,” said Jane King, St. Paul’s PACE Operations Director. “Congratulations to everyone who contributed to our success and award including the leaders of St. Paul’s who created the vision, framework, funding, and support for this project that is making a positive difference in the lives of these seniors.”

The SDHF’s annual Ruby Awards are the county’s largest affordable housing industry recognition event, honoring the best people, projects, and achievements during the past year. Every year, hundreds of housing and community leaders from across the region and around the state applaud winners in more than a dozen categories. This year, the program took place on May 3 at the Prado in Balboa Park.

The Talmadge Gateway project was also nominated for Project of the Year: New Construction.

The Ruby Awards recognize excellence in affordable housing, and community development, highlighting the accomplishments of people, agencies and developments that work to ensure all San Diegans, regardless of income, have a safe, stable place they can afford to call home.
