St. Paul’s PACE
Physical Therapy

As we age, sometimes our bodies encounter physical challenges that we never expected. If you’re experiencing a physical obstacle as a result of aging, injury, surgery, or illness, our caring and experienced professionals at St. Paul’s PACE can help you reach your maximum independence so you can remain living at home.

Throughout San Diego County, St. Paul’s PACE offers comprehensive physical rehabilitation programs with physical, speech, and occupational therapy. St. Paul’s PACE therapists help seniors by developing a specialized program to restore mobility, reduce pain, and increase overall fitness levels.

How it Works

As part of your St. Paul’s PACE health plan, your care team may recommend physical therapy to help you build strength and restore movement and function. Both physical and occupational therapy can empower you to maintain optimal independence and equip you with essential skills for embracing life’s daily challenges. The more your mobility can be improved, the more you can do on your own without pain and discomfort.

Physical therapists evaluate, diagnose, and treat disorders of the musculoskeletal system with the ultimate goal of restoring maximal independence. Occupational therapists help improve your ability to perform daily living tasks. Speech therapists evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders.

Participants will be assigned to one of our four PACE centers based on their preference and proximity to the location.

The Benefits of St. Paul’s PACE Physical Therapy

Each St. Paul’s PACE day center has a physical therapy room where seniors receive their physical and occupational therapy. When you have an appointment, the therapist will come to the day center and bring you to the therapy room.

Not only that, but our therapists will even come to your home to determine if you would benefit from having grab bars, shower chairs, or other assistive medical equipment for your safety. With the approval of your care team, we will install any necessary devices to ensure you are as safe as possible in your home.

Let Us Help You

At St. Paul’s PACE, we provide physical therapy as a preventative measure for maintaining your independence, not just a reactionary measure. We want to make sure seniors can stay living safely in their own homes for as long as possible.

Our staff is specially trained in senior rehabilitation therapies, so you can feel confident in knowing your treatment is the best plan for your physical improvement. Let us help you live the best life possible.

There are certain conditions that come into play as people get older, which may inhibit their ability to be fully mobile:

  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Arthritis
  • Balance issues
  • Cancer
  • Hip & joint replacement
  • Osteoporosis & more

Eventually, physical therapy can enable your muscles to grow stronger, help your body to become more balanced, and gain greater control over what you can physically do.
